50 nations at ENERGY GLOBE World Award Gala in Wels
Traunkirchen/Wels – Fifty nations from around the world will be coming to the energy city of Wels on 25 November for the World ENERGY GLOBE Award Gala to be honored for their outstanding achievements for the environment.
“As with the Olympic Games with its many disciplines and a common goal, our participants want to be there and to help to keep our planet viable,” ENERGY GLOBE founder Wolfgang Neumann shares as he looks forward to the ENERGY GLOBE highlight, which is being anticipated nationally and internationally with excitement. In the afternoon the ENERGY GLOBE national awards will be presented to some 50 nations in the realm of a festive ceremony.
On that evening the international ENERGY GLOBE Awards will be presented in the five categories Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth at a gala ceremony. From among the category winners, the audience will then vote for the ENERGY GLOBE World Award.
Star moderator Arabella Kiesbauer will guide the audience and TV viewers through the evening. High ranking laudatory speakers will present the awards: Austrian Federal Minister for Economy and Energy Dr. Reinhold Mitterlehner, Energy Globe Jury Head Maneka Gandhi, Australian attorney and Bush Heritage Australia Board Member Leanne Liddle, former Head of the World Bank Inspection Panel Prof. Eduard Ayensu of Ghana, green investment banker, founder and CEO of Starise Investment Hong Nguyen, and head of SafeAmerica Foundation Len Pagano.

The
projects nominated in the five categories are diverse and unique. The range extends from a climate-friendly supermarket
chain to a Swedish harbor where ships refuel with clean energy, from an energy
storage system for an apartment complex in Canada that is unique worldwide, to a
cooperative energy production project for Senegalese villages, to a biogas project
used in Kenya for hotels and industry. Other projects include interactive radio
for farmers in Nigeria to exchange important information about sustainable farming,
a self-sufficient smart building in the United Arab Emirates, a passive solar house
in the permafrost region of Russia, water supply projects in Nepal and
Nicaragua, a water purification project in Rwanda that provides women with
income, and exciting youth projects in Zambia, Ghana and the USA.
