Well attended ENERGY GLOBE Side Event at WIREC – Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (USA)

From March 3 – 7, 2008 the ENERGY GLOBE is exhibiting at THE Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC) sharing a booth with the two Austrian high-tech companies Fronius International and SOLution Solartechnik. In a well attended one-hour Energy Globe Side Event on March 4 an international panel discussed the topic „Energy efficiency between consciousness raising and business opportunities of the future“. Panel members were: Don Baker, international ENERGY GLOBE Juror and Founder of the Center for Sustainability & Economic Growth (CSEG), California; Helmut Schreiber, World Bank, Central and Eastern Europe; Stephen Oxley, Assisant Secretary, Renewable Energy Branch, Dpt. for Environment & Water Management, Australia; Victorino Bala, Head of Renewable Energy, Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and Hans Peter Schmid, Executive Vice President of ENERGY GLOBE Foundation.

One day after the Side Event, US-President George W. Bush visited the WIREC, where he clearly spoke in favour of renewables.
